I didn’t quite get it when I was reading the novel due to its wordiness but now I can clearly see that today’s episode is an important precursor to the grand finale. This episode explains how his supreme bone is fully reborn and that he uses the runes to carve them onto his body/bones.
P.S. Those runes are “instructions manuals” that help you to operate the abilities/functions bestowed by the supreme bone.

You may ask why is the carving important? Because the ability of the supreme bone will not be lost even if the bone is given away in the end. For those who have read my earlier spoilers, I’m sure you can guess to what I’m referring. It will be still some time to go before we come to that, but hang on there, some epic sh!t is about to happen!

I don’t know what exactly you want to know. Care to elaborate? If you’ve been watching PW on gogo the last weeks/months, @Dase and I have written enough spoilers in the comments sections of the previous episodes that will last till the end of the season which is episode 130.

You know it helps if you could give me some pointers on what you already know. Alternatively you can also read the previous comments from the older episodes that I’ve written.

Anyway here you go: This season 3 will end at episode 130 and we’re now at ep 82. So there’re still quite some highlights you can look forward to.
1.) The wedding between SH and Yue Chan’s clone. This is another twist in the story where the Yue Chan that SH captured is just a clone and she will eventually fall in love with SH. The wedding is just a ruse or more like it’s “forced” upon YC#2 by SH’s mother. The real YC comes on their wedding night to spoil everything and she vows to kill both SH and her clone because in her opinion, they have ruined her immaculate fairy image. Another highlight in this wedding arc is the pre-wedding banter between YC#2 and SH’s mum. They both come from the upper realm and have illustrious status there.

2.) The great battle of the lower realm. In this arc, SH dies protecting his Stone Kingdom (and indirectly the entire lower realm) from upper realm invaders. @Dase and I suspect that Season 3 will either end with the death of SH or his resurrection.
2a.) Before the battle, he rebuilds Heavenly Mending Pavilion to fulfil his promise to Grandpa Ghost.
2b.) SH makes 4 divine pills that enable one to power up instantly to the next level and he gave 3 of them to the “kings” of Stone Kingdom (Note: he’s the Emperor).
2c.) He fights and kills 7 upper realm “Deities”(actually just 5 directly). He dies fighting the last and the most powerful of the 7 deities.
2d.) Just before he dies, he gives his supreme bone to his brother. In fact, this can be treated as an arc by itself. A lot of things happen during this short period when SH is dying. You will want to strangle his parents and brother to death at this point!

3.) The resurrection. He was buried and resurrected one year later. This is basically the finale for the lower realm arc. The next 70% of the novel takes place in the upper realm.

I guess that should be enough for you to digest in the meantime.

As for the current level, he should now be at the peak of formation gathering realm.

P.S. I’m not sure if you’re new to Chinese wuxia/xianxia novels but it may require quite some patience from you. A lot of things can be quite repetitive and the Chinese just love their peanut galleries witnessing everything and mocking the MC (that’s a typical way of narrating the story from the third person’s perspective).
